Lighting Studies

Improved Color Rendering: Despite identical light color, the color rendering properties of lamps lead to variation in color perception. Astra Industries offers the best quality and diffusion of light as shown on the car above.

In order to undertake all necessary studies for the choice and quantity of luminaires used in projects, Astra Industries puts its research and development department at the disposal of its customers.

These studies are performed by a group of qualified engineers according to relevant standards, particularly DIN 5035 (for interior lighting). Plans and data given by the clients are used to give a correct and rapid planning of interior lighting equipment. Serious mistakes and bad investments can be avoided by following the recommendations of experts. Appropriate planning and studies are prerequisites for a better energy saving system. This service is usually free of charge for Astra customers.

Construction

Aluminium louvers: The aluminium reflectors manufactured by Astra Industries are single or double parabolic having the following advantages:

• The aluminium used is of a high quality and low iridiscence for better directioning and increased control over the luminous photometrics.
• High efficiency where most of the luminous rays are reflected downwards due to the excellent reflector curvatures in parallel with the lamp.
• The form, position and increased number of transversal blades is specially designed to decrease the straining effect of glare thus reducing the amount of stray luminous flux at an angle of 65º with the vertical to less than 200cd/m² (Cat.2)

Metallic bodies: Metallic bodies of the fluorescent range are made of at least 0.7 mm thick sheet steel degreased and phosphated before painting. This will insure a robustness and durability in accordance with all current norms.

Painting: Painting in epoxy-polyester powder (Ral 9010/9016) exceeding a thickness of 60 microns. Oven baked with powder paint in accordance to ISO norms 6272, 1520, 2409, 1519 and 1522.

All Astra production complies with the requirement of the directives 73/23/EEC relating to electrical equipments designed for use within voltage limits (low voltage directive) as modified by directives 93/68/EEC
